‘Bring ‘em on’

I must say, when I saw the television news “teasers” which only played Bush’s three-word challenge, rather than the entire statement, I was a bit taken aback. But after seeing the statement in context, I was in total agreement. After all, isn’t it better to have the Ba’athists and terrorists go after our superbly outfitted military than have them hide in the shadows? Andrew Sullivan makes the same point.

A year and a half ago, Bush said we’d “smoke ‘em out,” and in Iraq, that’s what we’re doing now. It is very dangerous work, but work for which the military is well-trained.

Bring ‘em on.
