Attention all enemies

Canada's army commander has kindly asked enemies of The Great White North for a six-month hiatus in any hostilities, as his forces need a break.

"What would I like? I'd like a respite," Lt.-Gen. Mike Jeffery told the Canadian House of Commons defense committee - and any terrorists, dictators or megalomaniacs who may have picked up a newspaper.

He added the Canadian troops serving in Bosnia should be called home - not because their mission has been accomplished, rather because it is boring.

And the Canadians are upset because America doesn't respect them enough.
